| Chris Dienner
- Founder |
Born
and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
in the heart of Amish Country, Chris has
been working with wood all his life. As
a son of a carpenter, he has a lifetime
of experience as a businessman and brought
that experience with him into the start
of what is now known as the "Furniture
Barn." Having recently passed on the
operations of the business to the next generation,
his experience continues to prove valuable
in his position as the salesman for the
Kitchen Division. |
| Dathan Stoltzfus
- Managing Partner |
As
a son-in-law to Chris, Dathan has been a
part of the company since its beginnings
in 1994. He brings that experience into
his new responsibility of Managing Partner
of the custom furniture business. His goal
is to continue to provide the same level
of quality, service and the personal touch
that are the hallmarks of The Furniture
Barn's reputation. |
|
| Our
History |
| The Furniture Barn began in
1994 as a small shop designed to build only crafts
and small furniture. It was only a “sideline”
business that supplemented the primary construction
business, where we built homes, additions, and
garages and also included a good bit of remodeling
work. |
In
its first 2 years, the main outlet for
the furniture business was “The Farm”
market in Warsaw, where the main products sold
were small handcrafted pine items purchased from
wholesalers in Pennsylvania. As customers began
asking for items not available through the wholesale
suppliers in Pennsylvania, we began setting up
a shop for custom furniture, where we would make
almost any wood furniture item requested by our
customers. Increasingly there were those who wanted
larger items, large entertainment centers, desks,
computer units, etc, that required some creative
designing. Eventually there were requests for
kitchen cabinets as well. In the fall of 1996
we put the first full time craftsman in the shop,
and later that winter had four craftsmen making
furniture full-time. |
The
Furniture Barn offers to its customer’s
years of experience in woodworking. Chris Dienner,
founder and currently our kitchen salesman, grew
up working with wood, learning it from his father
who was a woodworker nearly all his life. Chris’
grandfather owned and operated a small woodworking
shop from approx 1925-1960, and passed on to each
succeeding generation a love & talent for
woodworking. This love for woodworking has been
picked up by several of Chris’ sons, as
well as his son-in-law, Dathan Stoltzfus, who
has taken on the operation of the Furniture Barn
as Managing Partner. |
Our
reputation is built on the belief that
giving a quality product, at a reasonable price,
with good service both during and after the sale
will create satisfied customers who will keep
us in business. We are very thankful to God for
blessing our business and providing for us the
opportunity to be in the custom furniture business.
God bless you, we hope to meet you at the Furniture
Barn soon! |
